HFTP and Kalibri Launch Professional Certificate in Hotel Profit Analysis (CHPA)

HFTP and Kalibri Launch Professional Certificate in Hotel Profit Analysis (CHPA)
Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP) and Kalibri announced the upcoming release of the Professional Certificate in Hotel Profit Analysis (CHPA), a new certificate program designed to give hotel management professionals a rigorous, practical foundation in profit-focused performance management. The Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) serves as the industry launch partner.
The initial program content was developed through a collaborative alliance of association and industry partners, bringing together a broad base of expertise and perspectives from across the hospitality sector.
Building a Foundation for Profit Growth
The CHPA certificate addresses a critical need in the industry: a standardized, accessible framework that connects the disciplines most responsible for a hotel's financial health. The program covers four core areas of focus embedding profit optimization techniques for each— revenue acquisition and retention, labor, financial fluency, and operational efficiency — providing the foundational building blocks, methodology, metrics and case studies that underpin each discipline.
"This program was built through the lens of optimizing profit," said Frank Wolfe, CEO, HFTP. "Rather than treating each discipline in isolation, CHPA brings them together into a cohesive framework so hotel teams can evaluate performance holistically and take targeted action to improve profitability."
Successful candidates will gain fluency in key performance metrics, core analytical processes, and basic workflow structures across these areas. The curriculum incorporates real-world case studies to ground concepts in concrete, practical examples — making the learning immediately applicable on the job.
Designed for Multidisciplinary Hotel Teams
The CHPA is designed for on-property and above-property management professionals with responsibility for any aspect of hotel operations, commercial execution, finance and accounting, or overall performance management. While most participants are expected to bring deep expertise in at least one discipline, the program is built to convey a holistic approach to managing hotels facing today’s challenges of muted demand and fast rising costs. It is a bridge linking management teams with the needs of their owners and asset managers.
"A general manager and a commercial director may each be experts in their own right, but if they aren’t aligned with owners’ needs to grow profit and the hotel’s asset value, performance may not be optimal," said Cindy Estis Green, founder and CEO, Kalibri Labs, LLC. "CHPA creates that shared understanding — a common framework and vocabulary that makes multidisciplinary teams more effective and their execution more cohesive."
A Pathway to Advanced Expertise
The CHPA is designed as an entry point into a broader learning journey. More advanced courses with comprehensive content will be made available for professionals seeking to extend their expertise within each discipline, making this certificate both a standalone credential and a foundation for continued professional development.
Enrollment and Program Details
AAHOA is currently testing a white label version of the CHPA program and providing valuable feedback to help shape the final product. The finalized program will be available in mid-September and debuted during the HFTP Annual Convention and Tradeshow. Both Kalibri and HFTP will offer the course for sale through their respective channels, with HFTP delivering the course on its platform, ensuring a seamless experience for learners no matter where they enroll.
